100% Design colour talks programme in collaboration with Karen Haller
How exciting, London Design Week is almost upon us. When London immerses itself in all things design, attracting creative minds from around the world.
I’ve been busy working behind the scenes on the 100% Design colour talks programme. I can’t believe it was back in March, by a chance meeting at another colour event (Sean Rogg’s founder of The Waldorf Project with his sensory and intriguing Chapter Two: ‘Colour’) when I met the lovely Claire Barrett from Caro Communications.

Five of my favourite colourful finds this month
Wrapping up July with five of my favourite colourful finds. I hope you enjoy them too.
family fun at the drop in to colour at Turner Contemporary margate
Despite the cool summer day it was a hothouse of colour activity at the Turner Contemporary Margate ‘Drop in to Colour’ on Saturday, part of the #Summer of Colour programme of events.
Hosted by the Colour Group GB, families enjoyed hours of colourful activities from painting mini masterpieces, playing the colour name card game, making coloured fans, playing with giant jigsaw colour globes, testing their colour vision and creating a large ‘feathered’ dove from their own colourful hands.
summer of colour… drop in to colour at Turner Contemporary margate
The Turner Contemporary Margate is putting on an amazing line up of colourful events for their Summer of Colour from 24 May – 21 September 2014.
The Colour Group GB is thrilled to host “Drop in to Colour” on Saturday 14th June 2014.
Grand Designs LIVE 2013 – Karen Haller talks Colour Psychology in the home
I just spent the last three days giving talks on colour psychology in the home at Grand Designs Live, Excel London. It was an absolute honour to be asked to be one of their expert speakers. Colour psychology is my passion so to say I was excited to speak at one of the biggest interior shows in the UK is an understatement.
grand designs live london – come and hear me speak how you can use colour psychology to transform your home
I can’t tell you how honoured I feel to be asked to be one of the expert speakers at this year’s Grand Design Live, Excel London. One of the biggest interior shows in the UK based on the very popular Grand Designs TV programme.
After my friends’ congratulations, their first question was without fail – ooh will you get to meet Kevin McCloud… He certainly seems to be one popular man.
one day, two great events: blue, the world’s favourite colour & why denim never fades
Is blue your favourite colour? Well you’re not alone if it is. It just happens to be the world’s favourite colour! And a good friend of mine and fellow Colour Group GB member, Janet Best, is putting on a fabulous all day event all about the colour blue. The morning session will be on the fascinating “History of Blue” whilst the afternoon event focuses on “Why denim never fades”.

colour in art … black and white, perfect pairing for religious art
A friend of mine, Justyna Sowa, is having her first solo art exhibition titled “Religious Milk”. I noticed that her work, not only having a religious theme but each piece was in black and white. This got me thinking about the symbolic significance of the colours in relation to her theme.
interiors – london design festival, decorex 2011
How exciting was Decorex this year. It just keeps getting better… great products, stunning presented stands, exceptional standard of seminars and guest speakers. And for the first time, the hugely successful Decorex Bloggers competition. I was thrilled to be part of, coming runner-up in week One to the eventual winner, Andrew Dunning.

interiors – london design festival, my 100% design finds
September in London is just back to back with interior and design tradeshows, exhibitions, seminars. You name it, it was happening!
I headed straight to 100% Design as there is always a great mix of products from leading local and overseas designers, as well as showcasing the up and coming. I picked out a range of products to give you a flavour of what was on show from the practical, the quirky, inventive and the unexpected…
