Each month I search out inspiring colour and design events, exhibitions and tradeshows from the UK and around the world. Here are my finds for July, quite an eclectic assortment.

vintage southbank centre, london 29 – 31 July
Vintage at Southbank Centre is a three-day party, a big dressing-up box and a collector’s dream, celebrating the 1920s to the 1980s.

summer exhibition, london july – 15 august
The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition is the largest open contemporary art exhibition in the world, drawing together a wide range of new and recent work by established, unknown and emerging artists.

new designers, london 02 – 09 july
Now in its 26th year, New Designers is unrivalled in Europe in bringing together such a broad cross-section of fresh, new design talent under one roof.
part 1
on until 02 July  features textiles, fashion & accessories, contemporary applied arts, ceramics & glass, jewellery & precious metalwork.
part 2 on from 06- 09 July  features product design, furniture design, visual communications (including graphic design & illustration), spatial design.

klc design college, london 11 – 13 july
exhibition of work from this year’s interior designer graduates.

london street photography festival, london july
World-class photography and a diverse programme of exhibitions and events at venues including the National Portrait Gallery, the V&A, the British Library, the German Gymnasium and St Pancras International.

savage beauty, met nyc july – 07 august
Organised by The Costume Institute, this exhibition celebrates the late Alexander McQueen’s extraordinary contributions to fashion and design.
