Following on from the de-cluttering article making room for 2011, the next step is finding suitable storage to house those items you’ve decided to keep.

The key to good storage is having a place for everything and it’s easily accessible.  It’s not good if you have to keep pulling everything out to get to your most used items.

Here are some simple storage solutions that you may find useful:

Hidden storage
Don’t think you have any storage space.  Take at look around your home, behind the walls, under stairs, under floors.  You’ll be amazed at the space just waiting to be used.

Designer storage
Not all storage needs to be hidden away.  If you have a collection that would look great on show why not turn your storage into a design piece, which is not only functional but also looks great.

Practical storage
Practical and well organised storage is key, where there’s a place for everything and everything is in its place.

Clutter has a habit of sneaking up on us.  So set yourself regular diary dates throughout the year to keep on top of things.  If you can do a bit at a time this will help alleviate clutter overwhelmed.

With everything in its place you will quickly see if you are beginning to ‘collect’ again.  If that happens, just follow the de-cluttering steps again, and you’ll be on top of things in no time.

Lots of love
